_SBL4880Fastest in free practice, fastest in today’s qualifying session… ART GP’s Stoffel Vandoorne is in outstanding shape at the moment and it is tough to challenge him. Closest in qualifying was the DAMS duo of Alex Lynn and Pierre Gasly.

The Belgain was on top of the time sheet through most of the session. His first flying lap was interrupted by a short red flag due to Artem Markelov stopping on track. Afterwards Vandoorne continued to lead unchallenged until the mid-session pit stops, when Lynn managed to close in on Lynn to within a tenth of a second.

However, Vandoorne managed to improve his own time in the dying stage of the session, and undisputedly claimed his sixth pole position in a row. Alex Lynn will start tomorrow’s feature race alongside the ART driver, and Lynn’s team mate Gasly will line up in third place on the grid, followed by Mitch Evans, Alexander Rossi, Daniel De Jong, Raffaele Marciello, Rio Haryanto, rookie Nick Yelloly and Julian Leal.
