Nico Rosberg becomes a father

Nico Rosberg has become a father ahead of the Italian Grand Prix.

The 30-year-old German confirmed via his Twitter account that his wife Vivian had given birth to a baby girl.

He also added his thanks to the hospital where Vivian had been staying.

Rosberg becomes the sixth father on the F1 grid, alongside Kimi Raikkonen, Sebastian Vettel, Romain Grosjean, Pastor Maldonado and Felipe Massa.

A joke in the Formula 1 paddock is that drivers lose some speed when they become a parent. After dropping to 28 points behind his teammate in the championship standings, Rosberg will certainly be hoping that it does not become reality!

Baby Rosberg already has an F1 world champion Grandfather, I’m sure Nico would love to make it two world champions in the family after losing last year’s championship at the final race in Abu Dhabi.

We wish Nico, Vivian and their daughter all the best.
