Star Driver: 2015 Formula One Season

Max Verstappen has conquered the entire grid this year. At the start of the season, people said he was too young and that he was heading straight down the same path as every other driver who started too young. I believe that this season he has broken the loop of history repeating itself. Therefore, I cannot deny him of being star driver of the 2015 season.

Although I’ve only been writing star driver articles for half of the season here at Read Motorsport, four of the titles have been given to the 18-year-old. This is because I find it impossible to fault his overtaking, as I’m sure many of you will agree.

The first time I saw Verstappen overtake, I passed it off as mere luck. However, he kept passing experienced drivers. One day it was Massa, then the next it was Alonso. He began taking the grid one champion at a time. Unfortunately, we’re yet to see him go head-to-head with a Mercedes but I look forward to the day when we’re lucky enough to catch a glimpse of it.

As for his future in Formula One, I see a long and successful career. I don’t claim to be psychic, but I believe that if the top teams of Formula One let Max Verstappen slip through their fingers, it would be a great loss to the sport.
