Renault: What do the Fans think?

Today Renault unveiled their brand new livery. Since the mid-point of last season fans have been making their predictions of driver line ups. It had previously been assumed that Pastor Maldonado would remain with Renault (previously Lotus) as Brit, Jolyon Palmer took the seat of Romain Grosjean after his move to the new Haas team. However, in the more recent weeks, rumours of Maldonado losing his seat began to circulate.

Today, as Renault revealed their new look, ex McLaren driver, Kevin Magnussen stood beside it – not Pastor Maldonado. Overall, fans seem thrilled with the drivers signed to Renault for the 2016 season. Magnussen has received an incredible amount of support as fans took to Twitter to welcome him back to the grid.

Kevin Magnussen himself tweeted to let people know the news. The light-hearted tone of the tweet speaks for itself. Magnussen is glad to be back.

As far as Renault’s new livery goes, fans seemed somewhat disappointed. Many people had hoped that Renault would uncover a yellow car today. However, the car that was presented was black with only yellow accents. Fans feel the colours don’t stand out as more and more Formula One cars seem to adopt the darker livery options.

Although there are fewer out there, some fans tweeted about their excitement over the new livery.

Fans that didn’t like the livery may rest assured. This isn’t the team’s season paint job. Renault tweeted Silverstone earlier assuring them that the paint wasn’t staying for long. In the process, they announced the livery will not be black.

Perhaps a yellow Renault will appear on the grid in Melbourne.
