Formula E: The drivers confirmed for season three

There may be just under three months left until the start of the third season of the FIA Formula E Championship, but many drivers have already been confirmed.

The second season ended in dramatic circumstances, with the Drivers’ Championship battle between Sebastien Buemi and Lucas Di Grassi going down to who could get the fastest lap. Buemi was able to get a fairly untroubled lap in with his Renault e.dams machine to clinch the title.

Both drivers did well, but the stories weren’t as lucky further down the paddock. Defending champion Nelson Piquet Jr. had a horrible season with the NEXTEV team not competitive. We also saw the Trulli team fail to start the first two races of the season and then subsequently leave Formula E.

This past season we’ve seen a former Formula 1 World Champion, a winner being disqualified, and three new locations including the move of the Berlin ePrix to the centre of the city. We are bound to see more in the third season.

See which drivers have been confirmed to be racing when the Hong Kong ePrix kicks off on Oct. 9, 2016.
