We’re over half way through the 2016 Formula One season and my, how time flies! With the summer break now in full force, drivers and team members are banned from the factories for half of the four-week break to ensure they are rested and spend valuable time with their families.

This gives us the perfect opportunity to review how the teams and drivers have done in the first twelve races of the year. As usual, some have done a lot better than others.

Before we start, let’s run you through some of the standings from the first half of the year.

Nico Rosberg won the first four races in succession, before adding a fifth victory of 2016 to his tally at Azerbaijan. After some early season unreliability, his teammate Lewis Hamilton now leads the championship with six wins – the last four have been consecutive.

Max Verstappen became the youngest ever Formula One winner in Spain, taking advantage of the Mercedes duo wiping themselves out on the opening lap. This came after he was promoted to Red Bull following Daniil Kvyat’s demotion back to Toro Rosso after the Russian Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo is the only non-Mercedes man to have taken a pole position this year – claiming his maiden pole at Monaco. He should have won that race – and would have if not for a bodged pit stop that dropped him to second.

With the review over, let’s move onto the awards.
