Rosberg leads Hamilton in final Brazilian GP practice

Nico Rosberg responded to his teammate’s strong pace on Friday to top the timesheets ahead of qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace.

Only 0.093s separated Rosberg and his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Final practice ahead of this afternoon’s qualifying session started off with a damp track where drivers took to the circuit on the wet tyres. Reigning champion Hamilton was the first man out on the slicks followed by the Williams duo of Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas – who set the early pace.

Sebastian Vettel was right behind the Mercedes duo in third position. Vettel led Kimi Raikkonen, Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo.

Both Williams cars were inside the top 10 with Bottas in seventh and Massa in eighth. The surprise of the session was the pace shown by the Renault drivers. Jolyon Palmer was an impressive ninth fastest. Fernando Alonso completed the top 10 spots.

Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez were just outside the top 10 for Force India.
