Fastest lap a consolation prize for Loic Duval

It was a day to forget for Faraday Future Dragon Racing’s Loic Duval at the inaugural Marrakesh ePrix, even though he picked up the point on offer for fastest lap.

Loic Duval’s season has yet to get going in season three of Formula E Championship and Marrakesh is another round he’d probably like to swiftly forget. Technical issues in his second car thwarted his race as his car kept shutting down out track, but somehow he was able to do a run of laps towards the end of the race and sealed the point on offer for fastest lap with two laps remaining as a consolation prize.

“In the second stint we were still looking promising,” said Duval. “But unfortunately we got some problems with the car which was just shutting down. So I had to reset it all the time, but still I was able to do a few laps and that was good enough to make the fastest lap.”

Formula E heads off to Buenos Aires next, a place where Duval came home with decent points last season and the Frenchman will be looking for something similar to kick-start his season.
