Bernie Ecclestone’s most controversial moments as F1 chief

Bernie Ecclestone’s reign as boss of Formula 1 is officially over as new owners Liberty Media have confirmed that they will be replacing the 86-year-old with Chase Carey.

Ecclestone was involved in the running of the sport for over 40 years and during that time, a lot has changed.

However, one thing that remained constant was his ability to cause controversy either with his quotes or his ideas on changes he wanted the sport to make.
