Sauber’s top five races under Kaltenborn

The Formula One world heads to Azerbaijan this weekend for only the second time. All ten teams will be attending, but one will not have its team principal.

Monisha Kaltenborn has left Sauber ahead of this weekend’s race after falling out with the team’s owners over the future direction of the team. There have also been rumours that she refused to favour Marucs Ericsson over Pascal Wehrlein.

Kaltenborn has been a part of the Sauber team since 2000 and became the first ever female F1 team principal in 2012, taking over from founder Peter Sauber. She retained that role – as well as her position as CEO – despite a takeover by Swiss investors last year.

Sauber has had mixed results under Kaltenborn’s leadership, with the team going through its first ever pointless season in 2014 and scoring points only once last year.

There have, of course, also been some successes. We have listed Sauber’s best five races under Kaltenborn’s guidance below.
