Mir leads after Friday practice at Brno

Championship leader Joan Mir started his weekend in the best fashion, ending Friday as the top rider in Moto3 at Brno.

Mir lead the standings, but the talk of Friday was German wild card, Tim Georgi. Georgi led a wet first free practice session, to begin with, and was again fast in the afternoon. The German did crash, but still finished the day in sixth.

Mir’s championship rival Aron Canet was second in the standings, with Adam Norrodin coming home third. Andrea Migno was fourth, with Manuel Pagialini finishing fifth.

Tony Arbolino was seventh, with Nicolo Bulega eighth. Albert Arenas came home in ninth position, whilst Tatsuki Suzuki finished in tenth. Lorenzo Della Porta ended the Friday sessions in eleventh, whilst Bo Bendsneyder would finish the day in twelth.

Juanfran Guevara, Livio Loi, and John McPhee came home in thirteenth, fourteenth and fifteenth place respectively.

Moto3 qualifying gets underway at 11:35 BST tomorrow.
