Luthi tops the timesheets in final free practice session

Tom Luthi ended the final free practice session in Austria on top, ending the morning in first place.

The Swiss rider led the rest of the field by 0.165 seconds, putting Luthi ahead of Sky VR46’s Francesco Bagnaia in second. Luthi will be hoping to repeat this form in qualifying, as he chases down Franco Morbidelli in the championship.

Mattia Pasini was third place in the session, with Alex Marquez coming in fourth. Miguel Oliveria finished the morning in fifth place, with Isaac Vinales coming an impressive sixth.

Franco Morbidelli was down in seventh place, with Luca Marini finishing in eighth. Fabio Quartararo was ninth with Dominique Aegerter finishing in tenth place. Xavi Vierge ended the session in eleventh place with Stefano Manzi ending the morning in twelfth place.

The Moto2 riders will be back out for qualifying in Austria later. The session gets underway at 14:05 BST as Luthi and Morbidelli both compete for the championship.
