Maverick Vinales has taken pole position for tomorrow’s San Marino GP, the Spaniard showing the rest of the field that he is still a legitimate championship contender.
Vinales was able to beat out championship rivals Andrea Dovizioso and Marc Marquez to start from first tomorrow. Marc Marquez’ session ended early, with the Spaniard crashing out on his final lap.

Cal Crutchlow will start from fourth with the LCR Honda rider putting in a late time to put him on the second row. Jorge Lorenzo will join Crutchlow on row 2 alongside Johann Zarco.
Dani Pedrosa will start from seventh, with Danilo Petrucci starting from eighth. Aleix Espargaro will start from ninth place whilst Alvaro Bautista will start from tenth. Bautista was one of the two riders to move through from Q1, with Karel Abraham also coming through. Abraham will start from twelfth, with Michelle Pirro starting eleventh.
The MotoGP race will start tomorrow at 13:00 BST from the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
