Jorge Martin takes Aragon pole despite last lap crash

Jorge Martin has taken pole position for tomorrow’s Moto3 race at Aragon, despite falling on his final flying lap.

Gresini’s Martin looked to be setting a new Moto3 lap record at Aragon before crashing out. This was after Martin just got over the line in time to start a new lap.

Martin’s crash wasn’t the only incident to happen on the final lap, with a multi-rider incident stopping the majority of riders from improving their times.

The end result saw Martin take pole, with Enea Bastianini starting from second and Aron Canet starting third. Nicolo Bulega will start fourth.

Dennis Foggia, wildcarding this weekend, had an amazing qualifying. The Italian will start from fifth place, alongside championship leader Joan Mir in sixth.

John McPhee will start seventh, with Phillip Oettl starting eighth. Tatsuki Suzuki will start from ninth, with Marco Ramirez starting tenth.

The Moto3 race will start at 10:00 BST tomorrow from the Aragon circuit.
