Falchero switches to Arden for second GP3 campaign

Julien Falchero has moved to Arden for his second season in the GP3 series in 2018, joining Gabriel Aubry at the team.

Falchero made his debut in 2017 with Campos, scoring points on five occasions on his way to a 15th-place finish in the drivers’ championship.

The Frenchman tested with the British outfit in post-season testing last December, completing 50 laps and achieving a best result of ninth.

He also gained experience of its Formula 2 Dallara chassis during sessions at the Yas Marina Circuit.

“We are really pleased to secure Julien for his second season of GP3,” team manager Richard Dent said.

“He tested well with us in Abu Dhabi and worked well with the team straight away.

“His knowledge of the circuits and the Pirelli tyres means that we can hit the ground running.”

Falchero is the 11th driver to be named for this year’s GP3 line-up.

Drivers on the 2018 GP3 grid so far:

ART Grand Prix: Anthoine Hubert, Jake Hughes, Callum Ilott, Nikita Mazepin

Trident: Giuliano Alesi

Jenzer: none

Arden: Gabriel Aubry, Julien Falchero

Campos: Simo Laaksonen, Leonardo Pulcini

MP Motorsport: Dorian Boccolacci, Niko Kari
